Perfect for fans of Geekerella and Jenn Bennett, this charming, sparkly rom-com follows a wish-granting teen forced to question if she’s really doing good—and if she has the power to make her own dreams come true.
Charity is a fairy godmother. She doesn’t wear a poofy dress or go around waving a wand, but she does make sure the deepest desires of the student population at Jack London High School come true. And she knows what they want even better than they do because she can glimpse their perfect futures.
But when Charity fulfills a glimpse that gets Vibha crowned homecoming queen, it ends in disaster. Suddenly, every wish Charity has ever granted is called into question. Has she really been helping people? Where do these glimpses come from, anyway? What if she’s not getting the whole picture?
Making this existential crisis way worse is Noah—the adorkable and (in Charity’s opinion) diabolical ex of one of her past clients—who blames her for sabotaging his prom plans and claims her interventions are doing more harm than good. He demands that she stop granting wishes and help him get his girl back. At first, Charity has no choice but to play along. But soon, Noah becomes an unexpected ally in getting to the bottom of the glimpses. Before long, Charity dares to call him her friend…and even starts to wish he were something more. But can the fairy godmother ever get the happily ever after?

If you could trade lives with any character for a day, who would it be and why? What about a week? A month, year, or forever?

The thing about book characters is, if the book is any good, then their lives are in total upheaval. Right? But I would like to trade lives with Jane Austen’s Emma for a day—a week max (I can only go so long without deodorant). I think I could handle a whole month inside of Kevin Kwan’s Crazy Rich Asians, though. Probably not as Rachel (too much turmoil), but one of the cousins or side characters. It would be fun to jet-set around Asia for a few weeks!

What would you do if you spent the day with Charity and Noah? Where would you go to eat, hang out, relax, etc.?

First, Charity would take me shopping, because she would refuse to be seen with me in my yoga pants and sweatshirts. Then we’d all be starving and hit up either Inland Empire Bakery for cream cheese croissants or Arctic Marble for hand-mixed ice cream. After that, we’d stay up late binge-watching Star Trek TOS, NG, and Voyager.

If Charity and Noah were to hang out with characters from other books, who would they be and why?

I think Charity and Noah would totally go on a double date with Malcom and Katelyn from Abigail Johnson’s Girl on the Run (assuming that Couple #2 survives the life-and-death hide and seek they’ve been caught in). Malcom, a computer genius, is nerdy enough to really connect with Noah. And Charity would love Katelyn for being a “take charge and make it happen” kinda girl.

What was your favorite bit of research you ended up not using?

There are a lot of Star Trek references in Glimpsed. But for every one I used, I probably researched ten more. Even though I’ve watched a lot of The Original Series and Next Generation, it was a long time ago. So I’ve done lots of re-watching for research as well as reading all kinds of behind the scenes and making-of, fan-made content and commentary, and discussing the worldbuilding with committed Trekkie friends. Even though most of it didn’t make it to the page, I regret nothing!

What is your favorite quote, scene, or moment from Glimpsed?

There isn’t one page in this book that I didn’t have fun writing. But I have to say one of my absolute favorite scenes is from Chapter 10: It’s Not Stealing, It’s High-Stakes Borrowing. What I love about this chapter is the interaction of Noah’s quirky family and the way they make it totally impossible for him to play it cool. But at the same time, their generosity to Charity when she really doesn’t deserve it completely throws her for a loop.

Were there alternate endings you considered, or did you always know where the story was headed?

I am very committed to the HEA! So I always knew that Charity would land on her feet and end up with her true love. And, yeah, by the time I got there, the ending practically wrote itself.

G.F. Miller can write 80,000-word novels, but ask her to sit down and write 250 true and meaningful words about herself and she is likely to have an existential crisis. Who am I, really? She ponders. What do I want to be known for? Does anyone even read the back flap or visit author websites?

But eventually she will pull herself together and tell you that…She married her college sweetheart and is mom to three littles who routinely make her heart burst and her head explode (it’s a messy business, love). There are puppies big and small residing at her house (you’ll be seeing a lot of them if you follow her on Instagram). She’s been to a dozen countries, but not nearly as many as she would like. She loves learning all the things. She cries at all the wrong times. She makes faces at herself in the mirror. She believes in the Oxford comma. And she’s always here for a dance party.

While the stories she has brewing in her soul vary wildly from one another, there are three things they will always have in common: love, snappy dialogue, and happy endings.
