Happy Tuesday!
Top Ten Tuesday is a Bookish Meme hosted by That Artsy Reader Girl, and this week’s theme is OPENING LINES!
This week’s theme was a little tough for me, because I don’t tend to remember things as specific as opening lines, so this is less a ‘Top Ten Favorite Opening Lines from Books I’ve Read’ and more ‘Top Ten Favorite Opening Lines from Books I Found on My Bookshelf Just Now’.
And now without any further ado, here’s this week’s Top Ten Tuesday!
What are some of your favorite opening lines? Are you good at remembering them or are you like me? Let me know in the comments and have a splendiferous week!
What a cool way that you had this formatted. I loved it. My TTT Opening Lines

For picking up books you had lying around your house, you found some great opening lines! I admit, I had a little difficulty with this week. There’s only one opening line I had memorized. I had a hunch that some books had great opening lines (although I was wrong about some of them). Great post!

I admit, I did start with my ‘favorites’ shelf… and didn’t really move beyond it. I guess first lines make more of an impression on me than I thought! (or my favorite books have great lines because the whole book is good? idk) Happy reading! 🙂

My strategy was similar this week! I was grabbing all sorts of books off of the shelves to look at the first lines!

I love the quotes from The Guinevere Deception and The Bad Beginning! I remembered a few books when making my list, then started pulling books from my shelves to find more 😀

I’m not a huge ASOUE fan, but I do love the opening line to THE BAD BEGINNING. It definitely sets the tone for the book and the series.
Happy TTT!
